Today I enjoyed a fantastic lunch at The Newsroom Cafe to celebrate a friend's birthday. Their desserts are expensive and the carrot cake that I had last time didn't exactly thrill me. While I had low expectations, I had high hopes that the flourless chocolate cake would be worthwhile.
This rich and delightful dessert exceeded my expectations and beckoned plenty of "mmmms" from around the table. Shaved chocolate slivers adorned the cake which consisted of a soft truffle-like layer atop a more dense cake-y layer. While decadent and rich, this cake was more creamy than it was chocolately. Finally, vanilla ice-cream and a delicious strawberry added the perfect birthday touches for a 4- Cherry chocolate cake at the Newsroom!

I agree, by far the best dessert at the Newsroom!
