Carrot cake is a pretty delicious entity, no matter how you slice it. So when I saw Carrot Cake at Ralphs, I decided to take the gamble, even if it was from a large and generic grocery store.
Mmmm. I have somewhat mixed feelings about this cake. On the one hand, the cake part itself is totally delicious and while I'm eating the icing, I can't get enough of it. Yet, as soon as I complete my bite, I have an awful bitter aftertaste from, what must be, artificial ingredients in the icing. I try it again and melt as I eat it, only to reinforce that horrible taste afterward. This process goes so on and so forth until only a few bites remain.
Over all, this is a really decent cake for parties or on the go. If I had my druthers, I'd get a home-made creation or anything with 100% natural ingredients, but for a store bought item, this cake doesn't disappoint.
