Eat Breakfast and Fiber
Hi friends, it's Thinny Thursday again! That day where I share my personal tips on how to enjoy desserts while still maintaing a healthful life. Again, I'm not a nutritionist and this was never meant to be a component of my site, but because you have all asked me, here're your tips!
Thin Tip #3 is to eat breakfast and fiber! Now, I confess, I went eons before I even considered food first thing in the morning. Normally this was because I'd eat so much at night I'd wake up too full to even think about breakfast (next week's tip #4, don't eat a few hours before bed!).
I somehow got hooked on Irish Steal Cut oatmeal and I've never looked back. For one thing, fiber does a fine job of keeping your insides clean. I believe it was Steven Colbert who claimed that it was "nature's broomstick." Ha! Well put my friend. For another thing, Irish oatmeal is filling and can keep hunger at bay until lunch. And finally, it's totally healthy and wonderful for you, especially when you add extras like ground flax seed, cinnamon, and blueberries. I swear we have the exact same eating habits! I always eat oatmeal for breakfast! Typically I'll make some on the stovetop with apples, dried crans and then I mix in a little peanut butter (it tastes like trail mix!), but I also love to mix it up with a version made with bananas, dates and walnuts. It's ridiculously good - tastes just like dessert, but there's no sugar involved!
